Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Modern Brain-Body Health is a direct-pay practice. We do not bill insurance.
Payment may be made by credit card, debit card, check, or HSA/FSA card.
If requested, we can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill includes diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and visit details that you may submit directly to your insurance carrier. Reimbursement, if any, depends entirely on your specific plan. We do not submit claims or communicate with insurance companies on your behalf.
We do not participate with Medicare and do not bill Medicare for services rendered. Patients enrolled in Medicare may not submit superbills for reimbursement.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Our membership programs are structured with monthly subscription options.
The Foundational Assessment requires full payment at the time of scheduling and is not eligible for a payment plan.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Insurance-based care often limits time, testing, and treatment flexibility. Contracts with insurance carriers dictate what services can be provided and how they are reimbursed.
This model typically forces physicians to:
- Shorten appointment times
- See a high volume of patients daily
- Limit advanced testing
- Follow restrictive treatment protocols
Dr. Fowler has intentionally chosen a direct-pay model to preserve clinical autonomy, extended appointment times, and precision-based care.
Modern Brain-Body Health is built around:
- Comprehensive evaluations
- Advanced diagnostic testing
- Individualized treatment strategies
- Ongoing monitoring and recalibration
This level of personalized, systems-based care is not supported within traditional insurance structures.
What about laboratory testing?
Standard labs drawn through major laboratory providers (such as Quest Diagnostics or similar national labs) may be billable to insurance depending on your plan. We recommend verifying your out-of-network lab coverage, deductible, and copay details with your insurance provider directly.
For patients without adequate lab coverage, we often utilize negotiated cash pricing for routine panels. This frequently provides greater transparency and can be comparable to or less than insurance copays.
Some advanced or specialty testing may not be covered by insurance. Coverage varies by plan, and it is the patient’s responsibility to verify benefits prior to testing.
Who is a typical Modern Brain-Body Health patient?
Our patients are individuals who want clarity, structure, and long-term strategy for their health.
Some are navigating:
- Brain fog or memory concerns
- Hormone imbalances
- Fatigue or burnout
- Metabolic dysfunction
- Insulin resistance
- Thyroid disorders
- Autoimmune conditions
- Cardiovascular risk factors
- Anxiety or sleep disruption
Others are high-functioning professionals who simply want to protect cognitive performance and prevent decline.
Many have been told their labs are “normal,” yet they do not feel optimal. We use advanced diagnostics and a brain-body systems approach to uncover underlying drivers that may not appear in routine screening.
Our goal is not just symptom management — it is measurable improvement and long-term resilience.
What do treatments involve?
Treatment plans are personalized and structured around your specific physiology and goals.
Strategies may include:
- Targeted nutrition and metabolic support
- Precision supplementation
- Sleep optimization
- Stress physiology regulation
- Movement and recovery strategies
- Hormone optimization when appropriate
- Prescription management when clinically indicated
Dr. Fowler integrates evidence-based conventional medicine with advanced functional and longevity-focused strategies. Recommendations are grounded in safety, efficacy, and long-term cognitive protection.
A collaborative, trusting relationship is central to the process. Time is intentionally invested in understanding your history, patterns, and long-term objectives.
Are you my primary care physician?
Modern Brain-Body Health is not a primary care physician. Instead, we provide specialized functional and brain-body consultation.
You are required to maintain a primary care physician for:
- Annual wellness exams
- Acute illnesses
- Urgent or emergency care
- After-hours medical needs
We do not provide urgent care services and do not respond to emergency requests. In the event of a medical emergency, you should contact your primary care provider or emergency services immediately.
Modern Brain-Body Health is designed for individuals who want focused, comprehensive, and forward-thinking care — with the time and depth necessary to build a sharper, stronger future.
