Her unique background in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Functional Medicine allows her to provide comprehensive, evidence-informed care focused on helping patients stay sharp, strong, and independent.

I am a board-certified physician specializing in functional and integrative medicine in Sonoma, California. My practice focuses on brain health, memory concerns, cognitive performance, and root causes for healthy aging.

My background is unique because I combine Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Functional Medicine, Brain Health, and Longevity Medicine. This is a rare combination.

I chose functional and integrative medicine after seeing how often cognitive decline, metabolic dysfunction, and chronic inflammation are overlooked until symptoms become severe. Early identification of root causes creates the greatest opportunity to preserve brain function and optimize long-term health.

As a board-certified physician trained in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, with advanced fellowship training in anti-aging and regenerative medicine, my clinical lens has always been both broad and deeply detailed.

I am trained to understand complex physiology, but I am equally committed to understanding the person sitting in front of me, their unique story, their stress load, their family history, their fears, and their goals.

I specialize in working with individuals who are noticing changes they cannot ignore: memory concerns, cognitive decline, reduced focus, persistent fatigue, mood shifts, hormonal imbalances, or metabolic dysfunction. Many are high-functioning professionals who refuse to accept “this is just aging.” Others have a strong family history of dementia and want to protect their future before symptoms ever appear. I take both groups seriously.

What makes my approach different is integration. I use the latest in advanced testing and personalized care plans to identify and address underlying contributors to cognitive and age-related decline. My background in psychiatry allows me to understand the emotional and cognitive dimensions of health. My internal medicine training grounds me in comprehensive medical evaluation and risk assessment. My advanced education in functional, metabolic, and longevity-focused medicine allows me to ask a deeper question: what is driving this pattern?

I do not separate the brain from the body. I do not separate mood from metabolism. I do not separate hormones from cognition.

When you work with me, we examine the full landscape — insulin resistance, inflammation, mitochondrial function, nutrient sufficiency, thyroid signaling, stress physiology, sleep architecture, cardiovascular risk markers, environmental exposures, and genetic predispositions. I use advanced laboratory testing not to overwhelm you with data, but to create clarity.

Many patients come to me after being told their labs are “normal,” yet they know something is not right. I take that seriously. I believe symptoms are signals, not inconveniences. My role is to decode them.

Care in my practice is not rushed. It is deliberate. I take the time to listen carefully, analyze thoughtfully, and explain clearly. Your treatment plan is never generic. It is built specifically for your physiology, your risk profile, and your long-term goals. That may include precision nutrition, metabolic optimization, hormone balancing, targeted supplementation, prescription management when appropriate, and structured lifestyle interventions that protect both cognitive and physical resilience.

For those with a family history of cognitive decline, prevention is not a passive strategy. It requires early detection, risk modification, and consistent recalibration. I help you understand where you stand and what you can do — practically and proactively — to shift your trajectory.

My passion for functional medicine is deeply personal. I believe trust is foundational to healing. I do not see myself as someone who simply orders labs and writes prescriptions. I see myself as your partner in protecting what matters most: your clarity of mind, your strength of body, and your confidence in the years ahead.

Several years ago, despite extensive training in both internal medicine and psychiatry as a physician, I faced one of the most difficult health challenges of my life. Within a six-month period, I underwent multiple surgeries that required more than 11 hours on the operating table. The physical and emotional toll was profound, but the experience transformed how I understood healing and strengthened my belief that the body can recover when given the right tools and support.

At the time, I experienced the devastating effects of surgical trauma, prolonged anesthesia exposure, and the accumulation of chemical compounds introduced into my body through medical treatment. I was exhausted, struggling physically, and facing the frightening possibility that I might not fully recover. The prospect of becoming disabled was terrifying. Rather than accepting a future of decline, I turned to the same root-cause principles that had drawn me to functional medicine years earlier. I went through advanced genomic and functional laboratory testing to gain a deeper understanding of my unique biology and uncover the factors affecting my recovery. The results provided a clear roadmap for restoring my health and optimizing my body's ability to heal.

Drawing upon more than 15 years of experience in functional medicine, I developed a personalized recovery strategy focused on reducing inflammation, supporting detoxification pathways, restoring cellular function, optimizing nutrition, and addressing the underlying imbalances contributing to my symptoms. The transformation was remarkable. Before my third and final surgery, I was able to return to work and regain much of my strength, energy, and cognitive function.

That experience forever changed how I view health and healing. It reinforced my belief that symptoms are often signals of deeper dysfunction, that every individual has unique biological needs, and that the body possesses an extraordinary capacity to heal when given the right support. Today, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to every patient relationship. I understand what it feels like to face uncertainty, to search for answers, and to wonder if you'll ever feel like yourself again. My mission is to help patients uncover the root causes of their health challenges and create a personalized path toward lasting vitality, resilience, and optimal brain-body performance.
