About Me
I was raised in a physician's family where my mother was one of the first generation of endocrinologists in the country. She was prescribing medications to her patients, and also would go to the alpine meadows of the Caucasian mountains and gather herbs to give me when I was sick as a child.

My first training after medical school was in internal medicine. Later I worked as a physician-consultant for a prestigious French medical center in Eastern Europe. The center had an integrative structure, where pharmacy carried both medications and nutritional supplements, as well as homeopathy.

When I came to the United States, I went through four years of training in psychiatry as I felt compelled to complete my knowledge in internal medicine by studying the biology and physiology of human behavior.

But instead of feeling empowered by psychiatry, I felt boxed in and destined to be a "brain doctor". I started to search for additional training which would combine the wisdom of our ancestors with achievements of modern research and technology. That's how I ended up going through the advanced Fellowship of the Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A4M) and became board certified by them. Also I was fully trained by the Institute of Functional Medicine(IFM). I used to say that psychiatry is my mission and functional medicine is my passion, and now I practice the combination of both, plus using my ongoing education in general medicine online and in-person.
